Deadmau5 has snagged a Las Vegas residency with the Wynn, which will include dates at both XS and Encore Beach Club. He will kick off the residency January second at XS, and it is said that he will appear at the hotel monthly for the duration of 2012. New new pieces of proposed legislation threaten the way we share online media – not just pirated music, but anyone who shares…and that includes sites that post audio and video. Both the Stop Online Piracy Act and the Protect IP Act would allow the government to block and blacklist sites for posting purported illegal material, without taking court action first. While the Motion Picture Association of America and the American Federation of Musicians are in favor, eBay, Facebook, Twitter, AOL, Google and others are in opposition. STHoldings, which represents over 200 independent dance music labels from Creative Source and Dub Police, is pulling almost all content from pay to stream services Spotify, Simfy, Rdio and Napster.
